Why I Left a $28K Program

3 years ago, I joined a 12 month program. It was $28K. The person leading it was smart, creative, and well known. I'd previously purchased a $500 mini-course from them. It was extremely helpful in solving a specific problem I had. So they were my first choice when I felt ready to level-up. I'd got to a point where I'd had some traction. But knew I wasn't going to unlock "what's next" by continuing to do the same things. I felt confident I could have more impact with an experienced mentor in my corner. All my previous big leaps had come after investing in myself.I was onboarded with a group of 30+ people. After two weeks, our cohort of newbies was let loose into the larger program. It had 150-200 people in it. There were several group calls a week. But they were with different coaches that worked under the leader. Other than a weekly training with the massive group, we had little access to the main coach. Even though they were the face on all the content, marketing, and messaging used to attract clients. There was a coach assigned to support my cohort. He was available for emergency calls if you were stuck. But he quit shortly after I joined. I was paying a lot of money to be there. And I felt like a number. It was my fault. Completely. I should've asked more questions before joining. When my trial period was done (a few months into the program), I left.
